Banana Oatmeal Cookies

Hi all.
I don't know about all of you, but I am addicted to Pinterest. I decided I am going to try 1 new recipe a week & blog about it. Today, I am baking the awesome "2" Ingredient Banana Cookies that I found  here on The Burlap Bag. I got to it from Pinterest. You start with 2 bananas & 1 Cup Quick Oats. Easy Peasy. You can mix those 2 ingredients & bake or throw some add ins with it. I decided to add 1 small handful of chopped almonds, 1 small handful of pecans, 1 small handful of dried cranberries, 1 small handful white chocolate chips & 1/8tsp pumpkin pie spice. I wanted them full of flavor and something healthy, yet a bit a sweet. So easy to make. It only took me about 5 minutes to prepare everything. You grease your baking sheet, spoon out cookie mmix on pan & bake for 15min at 350*. Simple! Just mixing the cookie mix up it smelled so good!

They come out so nice and chewy. I love a soft cookie. I don't like the crunchy ones so this was perfect! The cookie held together nicely & taste great! Even the hubby said it was pretty good! (That is saying something)

Enjoy! Happy Baking & have fun with trying different add in. I'm thinking about trying some chocolate protein shake mix next time. :)

Go ahead and pour another cup of java and have a cookie!

Surprise!

So,
The Gettin on Track 5k was my last race for last year. I had signed up to run a 12mi or 12k run with the Decatur Running Club on 12-12-12. I ordered a shirt, bought a headlamp & all. But, after the Gettin on Track 5K I had some sort of injury to my foot/shin. I was down & out from running for a couple weeks. It was finally feeling good enough to run on when I started feeling ill. The stomach bug was going around. I seemed to have it for 2 weeks solid. I decided I better get to the doctors office.

needless to say, I haven't run in a while.....

Coming July 22, 2013

Only 1 cup of java per day for me.......

Update

Hi fellow bloggers!
It has once again been forever since I posted last! Sheesh.
You may or may not know that I started running last year around the beginning of summer. In June I ran my 1st 5K, it was a Warrior Dash. It was amazing!!! It actually got me pumped to run more! Since the WD, I ran a 4 1/2mi trail race (VERY tough), the Betsy Smith 5K my husband & I participated in a Duathlon. I ran 2 miles, tagged him, he biked for 13 miles then tagged me & I finished it off with another 2 mi run. We did great! Our goal was to finish in 2 hours, and we came in just under 2 hours! We rocked for first timers, if I may say so myself! :) My favorite run was the Gettin on Track by the Mt. Zion Trackbackers. This one is dear to my heart. My friend from HS, Mark, used to run cross country & died several years ago. They have started this race in his memory to help raise money for an all weather track for the HS. I was so ready to run this one! I have at this point managed to not win any medals, just receive participants medals. I wanted to win something! I ran the race, found my pace, thought of my friend Mark & said it was for him. I came in 2nd place for my age group! There were at least 3 in my age group & I am sure plenty more than that. My age group always seems to be the biggest age group. I was super excited to take 2nd place!!! It was a beautiful course, with some hills, but they were slow inclines. The wind was pretty strong that day. But I ran it & gave it my all. I can't wait to run it again this fall! I just may take 1st! haha
