Hey all,
As I sit here and write this blog, I think of all the BIG changes in the last month. We've bought a house. I began babysitting & we now have a 3month old mini doxie. WOW! Big changes. Faith even started 1st grade!! Since purchasing our new home, we ripped up the carpet and laid wood floor laminate, painted all the rooms, we are working on putting in new baseboards, still lots of painting for the window sills, doors & door frames.
Baby sitting has been wonderful. It allows me to stay home with my own kids & enjoy other children while making a little extra money. Our puppy has been lots of fun trying to house train him. We have been working on a name for him. I really like Zacchaeus. He is a wee little doggie! :)
I have not had much time for DIY stuff or freezer cooking. I will be so happy when we are fully settled. We had our 1st house guess 1 week after moving in! We even hosted a dinner for some family & friends. Its been a plateful but I say " Life is like the buffet, always gotta have a full plate!"

Smoothie Queen
Wow. Been a couple days. We had a LOT going on after the sleepover. I took the girls to the park up the road for a free event. They played "Capture the Flag" & BINGO. Then they recieved a free lunch! After the park we came back home so I could eat lunch, tend to my lil man. ( He & I watched everyone else eat at the park) After having a little time to cool off we headed back out into the heat for free day at the zoo. It was fun. Isaiah & I hung out in the shade while the girls ran all over petting & feeding the goats. We were eaten & licked by the goats in the shade. Yesterday Mikel & I enjoyed some "kid free" time with the teenagers from church.
So, now onto something a little more exciting. We live in a town with nothing exciting really. I LOVE Smoothie King. When I go, i have to drive to Champaign to get it & I always get the Strawberry flavored Hulk. So yummy. So, yesterday I decided to give it a DIY try since I wanted a smoothie so bad. I named it the Sunrise Smoothie. It taste very similar to the Strawberry Hulk, just with some OJ flavor. Now, I've learned to cook like my mom... a dab of this, a big scoop of that. So if you attempt this at home, good luck.
I used some frozen strawberries ( approx. 1 cup)
Some frozen OJ concentrate (maybe a 1/3 cup)
Peanut Butter ( about a 1/4 Cup) I know this sounds gross but it taste great!
honey to sweeten it ( i would guess around 4-5TBSP)
and some milk. (about a cup or so.)
Mix it up in the blender. Believe it or not, i thought is was great!!!! Packed full of energy to jump start my day.
Have any smoothie recipes you'd like to share? comment away!

Mentionable
Some of you may not totally understand the name of the blog. I thought i might explain it. Java=my daily cup of coffee. MaMa=me, the mom ( of 2, wife of 1!) is the Boz of the House= boss of the house. Boz instead of boss because my father inlaw was known as boz, my hubby is known as boz & I dubbed myself Mrs. Boz. :)
There you go, now you know.
Fudgy Tents
Today is a day that has been counted down since Sunday morning. My lil princess is having a friend stay the night. I love 2 little girls having a conversation in the car. It amazes me the things we see & don't think a thing of it, yet they talk about it as if they have just met a movie star or something. As we drove past the air port the girls talked about it with so much enthusiasm. I just wish I could learn to be so excited about the little things like they do. Tonight, since church got out they've played barbies, house, more barbies, watched a barbie movie & a little disney channel & built a tent. We will see how much sleeping goes down tonight. :) But, its summer & they are young. Let em stay up giggling & talking about silly girl stuff. Tomorrow, we plan to attend a free activity at the park then come home for some lunch then off to the zoo. Due to all the heat we are supposed to have, we will jsut hit the petting zoo & scoot on outta there.
As for life with my lil man, he has been having a rough rough day. Poor guy has those 2 teeth just wanting to break thru. He was stuffy & runny nosed & just cannot sleep very well. Lately at night he has wanted daddy & thats all that will put him to sleep. I do love seeing him asleep & so comfortable in his daddy's arms, but i have to admit.... i liked it a lot when Mommy was the only one that could calm him down. Though, mommy made best friends with lil man today. I came in from the garage with a fudgesicle. Isaiah just came army crawling along the floor to me making the "uh uh" at me with this adorable grin; as if i was supposed to share. Now, i know it isn't the best thing for him, but sheesh, the poor lil guy has has a super rough day. So, naturally i shared my fudesicle with him. He seemed to really like it.:)
Well, until tomorrow!

Messy Keys
OK, so it's been a crazy day. My lil man is like a hormonal teenage girl. He goes from smiley & giggling to crying & just plain grumpy. Poor lil man. His teefers are trying to come in. :( Also, he has made this bad habit of not falling asleep at night unless he is in his daddy's arms. :/ While I am glad (in some ways) that he is finally letting someone other than me soothe him, I really believe kids should learn to self soothe themselves. We used to let Faith cry it out at night. We would check on her of course, and reassure her that we are there. But with Isaiah, he shares a room with Faith & that isn't fair that she has to be kept up due to his crying.
We got a nice hard rain today & I was so excited! I was going to take Faith outside to dance in the rain with me while Isaiah was napping, but it was also hailing. :( So, we turned on the radio and a song spoke to me. Amy Grant- Better than a Hallelujah. Absolutely wonderful song! I sit in my messy house (because I want the time with my children. The mess can wait) and know that God still sees me as beautiful. I love that. Well, the rain cooled it off nicely & we took the kids for a walk. We let Faith play at the park down the road for a while before turning to come back. At some point while on the walk, I lost my keys. The van keys, house keys, keys to my parents & my inlaws. Suddenly, a new song comes to mind. ".....I've lost my keys, in the great unknown....call me please, cuz I can't find my phone....." Yep. that one is the story of my life. LOL I
absolutely love this song. Francesca Battistelli-This is the Stuff
So, if anyone out there has any ideas for doing a DIY keyring hook. I need to have something to hang at the door to hook my keys on. Maybe I can remember to leave them there.
Good night all!

Words to Live By
So, as a parent, I can be guilty of getting caught up in the things I am doing & push aside the things my kiddos may want me to do. Because, this laundry pile needs taken care of, or the dishes need done or my show is on TV & I don't want to miss it. Well, I chose to be mom & God blessed me as so. I too need a daily reminder as I believe everyone probably does. Life is short & we are never guaranteed another day. I found this photo over on www.moneysavingmom.com & had to share.
Children are blessings. They are our future. If we do not raise them with manners & intelligence, the world certainly won't. Don't be a friend. Be a parent. Say no to them. If their feelings get hurt, oh well. They have to learn that life is full of disapointments. Show them who Christ is. Show them what love is.

School Spirit Pony Holder
We are really on the move now. :) Ok, so this was Faiths 1st year playing softball & a lot of the girls had ribbons & such to show school spirit/team colors etc. But, again, I am cheap. Especially it being her 1st year & not knowing is she will stick with it. So, i decided to venture out & DIY, er Do It mYself. :)
1st, pit stop at the local Dollar Tree! I love that place, if you've never been, you need to go. They have awesome stuff & believe it or not, its only a DOLLAR! (is that why its called that?) Anyway. After buying my supplies (ribbon*in school colors*, & pony holders)
I cut the ribbon is several strips of equal length. Approx 4 or 5 inches. I then began tying them 1 by 1 around the pony holder making a tight knot. Alternate colors & scoot them in really close to get it good and full!
voila!
Maybe later I can get a picture of my daughter actually wearing it. :)

DIY Utensil Crock
Hey fellow bloggers,
I don't know about you all, but I don't have money to just go out & blow. Also, I really enjoy DIY stuff. It makes me proud of what I've accomplished. Now, that said, living in a very tiny duplex, I have 2 very small drawers in my kitchen. 1 for eating utensils and 1 for cooking utensils. Now, I don't have a lot here, most are in storage. (though, they are slowly working there way out of storage & back here) I desperately needed a utensil crock, but I'm too cheap to buy one. So, I decided to recycle! I cleaned out an empty canister from those lil wipies you use on counters, sinks etc. Then I chose my colors of scrapbook paper & found some stickers. I popped the top off the canister, cut my paper to fit, glued it on (also used a lil clear tape) & decorated with stickers. Mine say MOCHA & cafe. My kitchen theme is VERY slowly becoming a coffee shop theme.
*gladly taking in donations! :)

Day 1
Howdy. Welcome to my 1st ever blog. My intentions with this blog is just to give a record of what we do as a family, give & receive DIY ideas, share baking/cooking stories & recipes. The thing that will be mentioned in my blog are what works for our family or things we try. I'm not a doctor, I'm not a professional & my ideas may not work for your family.
Today, I've been trying to work on my breakfast sandwiches for freezing. It has been a slow process. My 7 month old is teething & cranky, my 6 year old is learning to read & is full of questions. Later, I hope to post pictures of the breakfast sandwiches. We love breakfast, but never have time to cook it. So, freezer cooking helps, a bunch!
More later!
DOOTY calls. ;)
